On today’s episode, Grant is talking with Bridget Eileen about LGBT+ victimization in the church and the criticism we as Side B Christians face from both the conservative church and other LGBT+ individuals. She discusses the book she is writing on this topic along with the importance of keeping our focus on the Gospel that Jesus alone saves.

Theme Song – Driven to Success by Scott Holmes
Dear Bridget, please CARRY ON !
I am a long-retired former teacher and Episcopal priest, with a daughter (age 50) in Japan doing missionary
work, with her husband and MY THREE GRANDCHILDREN, darn it. Somehow, in the midst of all that, she has
written a long book, and has revised it several times already. More revision “on-the-way!” Please tell me any
tips you might have about how to keep encouraging her without pushing her. I pray for her all the time.
Wow props to her for juggling so much! I’m not sure if I have any tips, but I certainly wish her the best!
Excellent conversation! I have a 23 year old daughter who is a lesbian and has left the church. Conversations with her about faith are tricky. We accept and love she and her girlfriend, and because of our affirming stance can’t help feeling at odds with traditional christian perspectives on what it means to be gay and Christian. Thank you for your words of encouragement.
It’s certainly a difficult thing to navigate when so much of the church is divided, but I’m so glad to hear that you have continued to love and accept your daughter. Many blessings!
Thank you so much for your willingness to address this issue. As a lesbian Christian who has struggled tremendously with fear of hell, loneliness, and very much feeling like an outcast in my church as I would hate for someone to “find out”, it means a great deal to hear someone like yourself so eloquently speaking up on these issues. It is tremendously important and I am hopeful that through stories like mine and yours, people will be willing to develop compassion for LGBTQ Christians who are just trying to do their best to live out the Gospel and follow Jesus.
Hi Erika thank you so much 🙏 I pray for the same thing 🙏
